 Year 4

Year 4 builds upon the skills that the children have learnt in previous years. We continue to develop the children’s independence by ensuring they are part of an interactive learning environment.

The children all take a leading role in their own learning through their use of Assessment for Learning to identify their own strengths and the areas they need to develop.

The children follow the National Curriculum for English and Mathematics and all other areas of the curriculum are taught through creative and relevant programs of study. They build on their earlier Scientific investigation skills when they study; Habitats, Solids and Liquids, Circuits and Conductors and Friction. The children also enjoy learning new Geography and History skills when learning about Volcanoes, Earthquakes and Ancient Egypt.
