 Science

In year 12 and 13 pupils study the Edexcel International Advanced Level in a Science of their choice. This is an international alternative to the Edexcel Ofqual-regulated A level qualifications.

Key Features

-  Flexible, modular structure.
-  January and June examinations to support students wishing to progress to local and international universities.
-  AS qualifications can be taken as stand-alone qualifications or used as a stage on the way to completing an Advanced Level. AS represents 50% of an Advanced Level.
-  100% external assessment with no coursework.
-  Specifications can be delivered in an international context to fully equip the international learner.
-  Written to the same rigorous standards as all Edexcel qualifications.
-  Regulated by Pearson.
-  Provides progression from Edexcel International GCSEs.

GCE A level reforms do not apply to IAL qualifications

The UK Department for Education (DfE) and Ofqual have confirmed that there will be reforms to GCE A level specifications taught by UK and international schools, resulting in new qualifications with first teaching from September 2015.

Please note that these reforms do not apply to Edexcel IAL qualifications. IALs will remain modular with examinations in January and June.
