The department of Arabic aspires towards strengthening the Arabic/Islamic identity of native speakers and to guiding them towards mastering the listening, speaking, reading and writing skills of their language.
Students in Key Stage 3 are assessed in line with school policy and assessments are in accordance with MOE requirements. Key Stage 3 are given continuous assessments on taught materials, together with a termly assessments. This helps to track progress and determine individual levels.
The Arabic Department organises trips and school activities to help reinforce the curriculum as well as to develop social skills and environmental awareness. Visits have been organized to the Islamic Museum, the Ceramique Café and Souq Waqif. The department also hosts the Arabic Heritage Week during school hours. The Language Café is held annually and students also prepare and attend the Arabic Breakfast event.
