 PSHE

Our new PSHE (Personal, Social and Health Education) curriculum encompasses the following aspects; Taking Part, Making a Positive Contribution, Economic Well-Being and Financial Capability, Relationships, Emotional health and Well-Being, Keeping Safe and Healthy Lifestyles.

In Year 3 the children will learn explicitly about the following:

·        Influences- Who is a positive influence in your life?      

·        Democracy and Opinion

·        Contributing and Managing Cost   

·        Being Different       

·        Life experiences and how we cope

·        Keeping Safe with Technology      

·        Exercise and Hygiene

In Year 4 the children will discuss and learn about the following:

·        Influences and Solving Problems  

·        Improving our Environment

·        Budgeting, Working and Earning  

·        Learning from people who are different than me.         

·        Grieving       

·        Personal Information and keeping safe from crime       

·        Who influences how we stay healthy.

In Year 5 the children will learn about:

·        How Can I value myself?    

·        Current Global issues and what makes a good citizen   

·        Aspirations and Enterprise 

·        What is Prejudice?   

·        Setting and achieving short, medium and long term plans     

·        What is life expectancy?    

·        What is disease?

In Year 6 the children will research and discuss:

·        Independence         

·        Morals and Values   

·        Enterprise and Disposable Income

·        Challenging Prejudice        

·        Moving on    

·        Prevention of illness and Disease  

·        Looking after Myself

 

Each unit of work presents opportunities for the children to develop their 21CC, e.g. Communication, Decision Making, Critical Thinking, Social Awareness, Creativity, Collaboration and Relationship Management.  The curriculum has been designed to create opportunities where the children can learn and develop their understanding of our core values; Care, Integrity, Honesty, Respect, Empathy and Tolerance.
