 Key Stage 5

The KS5 curriculum is dictated to by the examination board syllabi. We offer examinations from two UK examinations boards, Edexcel and CIE. We offer a wide range of subjects to our students with over 20 subjects being available for students to opt for. As with KS3 & KS4 students, we ensure that students also study subjects such as physical education and personal, social, health education (PSHE) in order to broaden their knowledge and understanding of key subjects plus ensuring they are educated to follow a healthy active lifestyle. We have also introduced a community enrichment programme, which sees our students volunteering one hour a week to contribute to the school community in a variety of roles such as reading in the primary school, to volunteering to support students in secondary school lessons in subjects where they excelled at IGCSE. The students also have one lesson a week on a modified ‘Theory of Knowledge’ course which only the Year 13’s study. This helps our students to think and question topics discussed which form part of everyday life in a different way.

We have a very strong extra–curricular programme at the school which involves sports, music, arts, drama, film making and robotics. Activities such as Duke of Edinburgh are very well attended with many students completing their Gold awards. We also participate in Model United Nations (MUN) within a very active programme within Qatar and also run our own Model United Nations Conference at the school, now in its 4th year.

The house system is a very well supported programme which offers a variety of activities for our four houses to compete in. While the house competition is fiercely competitive, the broad range of activities focuses on participation and a number of the competitions have 100% participation from the students within the house.
